The first Big Game Kicks Off Nov. 4:

No. 12 Oklahoma State Cowboys host No. 5 Oklahoma Sooners. Known as the Bedlam Series, the in-state rivals began playing in 1904. The Cowboys have defeated the Sooners twice in a row just three times since World War II. But the 111th meeting will likely decide the Big 12 Conference champion.

Two Big Games Played Nov. 10 and 11:

No. 4 Clemson Tigers host Florida State Seminoles Nov. 10 in one of the most intimidating home fields — Death Valley. The winner of this big game has gone onto finish first in the ACC Atlantic for the past eight seasons. The Tigers enter the game as defending national champions after winning a rematch against Alabama, 35-31, with one second left. So yeah, it’s pretty big!

No. 7 Miami Hurricanes host No. 3 Notre Dame Fighting Irish Nov. 11. This rivalry labeled Catholics vs. Convicts gained national prominence when they played three famous games in a row from 1988–90. The Fighting Irish beat Miami, 31–30, in the first game and went on to win the national championship. The following year, Miami put an end to Notre Dame’s record 23-game winning streak, 27–10. In 1990, the Fighting Irish destroying the chance of the No. 2 Hurricanes to repeat as national championship, winning 29–20. The teams renewed their rivalry last season and both enter the game looking to renew their glory as college football powerhouses.

Cross Town Rivals in Big Game Nov. 18:

No. 15 USC Trojans host UCLA Bruins in the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in a game between schools just 12 miles apart. USC and UCLA are cross town rivals. The two teams own the most Pac-12 football titles in history since the conference formed in 1916. USC has won or shared 37 and UCLA has won or shared 17. The Trojans and Bruins first played in 1929 and since 1939 the winner gets the Victory Bell. This game often determines who goes to the Rose Bowl.

Big Games Thanksgiving aka Rivalry Weekend Nov. 25:

No. 10 Auburn Tigers host No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide in the Iron Bowl, which began in 1893. One of the most historic rivalries in college football Alabama has beaten Auburn five out of the last six times. The Tigers only win came by way of the “Kick Six.” With 1 second left in a tied game, 28-28, an Alabama 57-yard field goal fell short. Auburn cornerback Chris Davis returned it 109 yards for the game-winning touchdown. Today, Auburn replays the return that fans still go wild over.

No. 9 Washington Huskies host No. 19 Washington St. Cougars in a game that may decide the Pac-12 North champion. The teams play for the Apple Cup, a tradition begun in 1962 and presented by the state’s governor. The teams first played 117 years ago in 1900 and after 109 meetings, Washington leads the matchup 71-32-6. The Huskies, who played in the FBS championship playoff last season, have won the last four meetings.

No. 21 Michigan hosts No. 11 Ohio State in Ann Arbor, which has the largest capacity among college football stadiums at 107,601. Begun in 1897, the Big Ten rivals arguably played one of the greatest games last season when they went into overtime for the first time in history. Michigan and Ohio State fans continue to argue today about the spot of the ball on fourth-and-1 that gave the Buckeyes a first down. It allowed second-ranked Ohio State to overcome No. 3 Michigan, 30-27, in double overtime.

Final Big Game on Dec. 9:

Navy Midshipmen host Army Black Knights in Philadelphia, Pa., in a game that marks the end of the college football regular season. The two teams have met 117 times since 1890 with Navy leading the series, 60-50-7. One of the most traditional and enduring rivalries in college football, the game has been nationally televised each year since 1945. Army looks to win its second in a row over Navy after ending the Midshipmen’s 14-game winning streak last season.
